Confederate - Company F - 55th Virginia A few notes from Richard; 1864 impression, we can include U.S. trousers, gum blankets, shelter halves, woollen blankets, knapsacks and haversacks, as huge quantities of these were captured at Chancellorsville. We can also include Yankee civilian shirts, socks, hats and shoes seized by the army in Cashtown and issued to the regiment by the quartermaster on that day. If we go for this, we should specify: Slouch hats with a few kepis, RD II and RD III shell jackets and a few civilian coats RD, U.S. sky blue kersey and civilian trousers, Any eastern mid-war accoutrements and kit used by either side, .58 Springfield or Enfield rifle muskets. Tents: fly tents and shelter tents. |
